Lucy Sullivan FDES, MIRVAP(ICH) Hydrotherapist, K-Laser Therapist & Massage Therapist
I have had a passion for animals for as long as I can remember. Having worked across various equine settings from livery yards, riding schools to stud yards, I gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience in England and USA. After completing equine studies and a degree in equine science I worked in operating theatres and various departments, gaining knowledge and experience in surgery, anatomy and physiotherapy.
I have worked at mixed veterinary practices and have gained a vast amount of experience in all areas however; rehabilitation is where my passion lies. I enjoy all aspects of rehabilitation with a strong interest in land based and therapeutic handling. I feel it is important to work as part of a multi-disciplinary team, providing a unique service to every patient I treat.
Away from work I am a mummy to two little girls who keep me and my husband busy along with our two Black Labrador Retrievers, Gunner and River, our rabbit Sven and two Guinea Pigs Badger and Fox. Any spare time I can be found outdoors Horse riding, running, hiking, paddle boarding, exploring the Lake District and family days out.

My interest and enthusiasm for animals started at a very young age, most of my childhood was spent on my grandad’s farm. At the age of 14 my first part time job was a kennel maid which fuelled my passion for dogs. I completed a BTEC National Diploma in Animal Management at Myerscough College, part of the course requirements included work experience. This included Veterinary Practices, RSPCA Rehoming Centre, Kennels and Cattery.
After completing a degree in Zoology, I travelled all over Australia volunteering in various wildlife parks and zoos across the country. Previously as my role as Animal Welfare Lecturer I taught FE and HE students. Specialising in Animal Health, Small Animal Rehabilitation, Exotic Animals and taught practical animal skills to a range of age ranges on the Colleges Animal Unit.
Rehabilitation is a strong passion of mine, in 2021 I pursued my dream of becoming an animal hydrotherapist and completed the training. I have Daley Dogs which offers dog walks and rehabilitation support to clients. I am working closely with Lucy here at Valley Animal Therapy, which means any animals undergoing treatment can be discussed as part of the multi-discipline team. Treating and supporting each animal individually.
In my spare time I enjoy spending time with my husband and son along with our two border terriers Mabel and Marlo. I enjoy walking in the countryside and baking.
